Sweet Tooth?

Plan Me Perfect are always trying to think of new and creative ideas for our events. As we all know there seems to be a sudden cupcake boom! I think we can all say we know one or two friends that now make delicious cupcakes or the just as scrummy giant cupcakes. So this got me thinking, what else is out there, what will be the next cupcake boom?

Sticking to the cake/dessert theme, we have noticed that cake pops have become quite popular. Cake pops are great for sweet tables, baby showers, and parties and even to be served as an evening treat. All can be made in a range of colours and flavours. Some images below are from my good friends at Pinkface and Dottie about cupcakes.

We were recently talking about some new ideas and discovered a great way to keep the children (and adults) entertained is by introducing marshmallow pops. One idea would be to perhaps have a staff member on hand to make the pops in front of your guests enabling each guest to pick their own toppings, or to just simply serve them as a fun evening treat. Certainly something different and who can resist a sugary treat.

Another idea is to have a dessert that is also a favour? So instead of cutting the cake and serving it to your guests, they are waiting on the table, beautifully wrapped and waiting for your guests. These also work well as a keepsake to remember your day. Plan Me Perfect will personalise your jars to your wedding colours and design a sticker that sits on top with your new married name, date and venue. A perfect decoration, favour and treat.

Some great ideas that Plan Me Perfect hope to introduce soon. Also, keep your eyes peeled for some sweet treats that Dottie about cupcakes is currently working on for one of our September weddings.

Time for tea?

One of our clients is having an Alice in Wonderland high tea wedding this summer. Now, before you think of a deck of cards, a big cheshire cat and harsh red and black colours, let me tell you that this is Alice with a twist! Inspired by Lewis Caroll's original illustrations and their country venue, we have decided to go for a vintage Alice in Wonderland theme.

Plan me Perfect have had a great time planning this and many weekends have been spent rummaging through boot sales and vintage markets for lots of exciting goodies. With a stunning Dorset venue and beautiful colour palette this venue is definitely going to be dressed to impress.

The bride has chosen a gorgeous dress as well as bridesmaids dresses that are perfectly fitting with their theme. The groom has selected some great jazz and soul music for their reception and have lined up a great band to kick off the evening dancing.

We have had the pleasure of designing the stationery, menu's and table plan for this event and we look forward to uploading the final pictures to our blog later in the year. The Plan me Perfect team will be traveling down the day before and will be staying for the full day to co-ordinate the ceremony and reception, so a busy but exciting weekend ahead!

Take a look at some of the images that we have used for inspiration.... just a teaser of what is yet to come!

A classic black and white wedding

One of our more recent clients has chosen to have a black and white wedding next summer. With a gorgeous venue in the Essex countryside this is definitely going to be an elegant affair. We have been asked to follow the theme of diamonds and pearls, so our first port of call was to create the mood boards to get an idea of what style she would like to go for.

Now rather than just have black and white, we felt it would be better to introduce and a few softer colours to help break up and soften the palette.

Our first mood board uses Black, white, Ivory, silver and green:

The style summary was: elegance, romance, diamonds and pearls are the key components for this classic theme. Well cut black suits and dresses, with elegant decor to match. The tables will be decorated in black, white, ivory and silver with hints of diamonds and pearls throughout. Green could be the accent colour and can play a heavy part in the foliage of the flowers as well as accenting details here and there to help brighten the room. The Pathways, tree’s and tables to be candle lit creating a romantic and cosy setting. Games and canapes on the lawn to enable your guests to relax, later followed by music and cocktails to get the night started on the chequered dance floor. Sky lanterns and sparklers are a great way to end a perfect day.

Our first mood board uses Black, white, ivory, Oyster, grey and silver:

This is a slight twist on the original brief but ties in well with the elegant diamonds and pearls theme as well as their stunning country venue.

Becky and James are a great couple and we are really enjoying working with them. Watch this space for more updates on their summer wedding!

Plan Me Perfect at the Heart FM Wedding Fayre

Plan Me Perfect have just had a very successful weekend at the Heart FM wedding fayre. It was our first wedding fayre as most of our clients have been from referrals but how could we turn down the opportunity to let Essex know about us and of course be able to dress a stand!

We decided to go for a country/vintage theme, introducing beautiful soft pinks, purples and lilacs. Thank you to Kim at A bunch of florists for the beautiful flowers and also to Sitting Pretty for the chair and cutlery hire. All other props were supplied by Plan Me Perfect.

The event was a great success and we met some great people as well as great suppliers. Looks like it will be an exciting year for Plan Me Perfect so thanks so all that popped by to say hello.

Vintage inspiration

I was recently at a wedding show in London and I came across a tiny little stand full of the most beautiful crafts and accessories. Sitting tucked into a corner quietly sowing away was Jessie Chorley. Jessie is a British designer now based in London and owns a shop and small stall selling home made jewellery and accessories. She has recently created her 'mon mariage' range, which is simply stunning and perfect for a vintage themed wedding. The mon mariage collection includes, table plans, table numbers, hand written favour boxes and even a hand made guestbook. Below are a few samples of her beautiful vintage inspired collection.

Jessie also has many other beautiful hand made pieces, all of which are inspired by and made with old books, embroidery and illustrations. She works with her good friend and jewellery designer Buddug humphreys, and they opened their first shop in August 2008... so, next time you are in the city, drop by and take a look.

A cake to remember!

So, as many of you know, cupcakes are the new big thing when it comes to weddings, baby showers and birthdays. Gone are the traditional cakes and the one's where your mum gets a terrible picture of you printed on them and here are the new trendy and of course delicious cupcakes. With so many colours, flavours and styles the question is where can you find a good cupcake?

Having recently become the chief taster for my neighbour I like to think that I have become an expert in this area (that and I have a serious love of food), so when I saw the cupcakes at my stepsisters wedding I could barely contain my excitement... Yes I was genuinely excited.

The lovely lady that made the cakes was actually a good friend of the groom and a real gem of a character. She had actually just returned from Jordan and Alex Reid’s wedding where she had been asked to prepare the cakes and had also recently supplied the cakes for Danielle Lloyd's baby shower.

Jennifer from Cuticups is based in Surrey and has a great website with a great selection of cakes. So was it a good cupcake? I can still taste it now and they were excellent! All of our clients of course get a very competitive price so take a look and get inspired.

The most amazing wedding entrance ever

Has anyone see this wedding entrance? It makes me smile every time I watch it and actually brings a small tear to my eye. What a great way to start the day:
