A travel themed wedding

Some people struggle with the thought of a themed wedding and often think of garish and tacky props, but... it really doesn't have to be like that. We at Plan Me perfect, love to take any element and develop it into a unique, classy and impressive event. We create mood boards for our clients as this really helps them to visualise the bigger picture and how their event could look.

PMP Design:

Recently we have been working on lots of lovely stationery for some couples that are getting married in Italy. All of which have gone with a slight travel theme, so we thought that we should give you a sneaky peek at some of the items we have been working on as well as suggesting some great ways to help you create a travel themed wedding.

Below are some of our recent save the date and invite designs. Kelly is going for an Italian lace inspired concept and Lisa has gone for postcards which show the gorgeous island of Capri where her guests will be heading for her big day.

Another great way to save the date is via email. Simply let us know about your day and PMP will design and send a HTML to all of your guests:

Travel themed wedding ideas:

So how can this be transferred into a travel themed wedding?
Below are some great ideas:

Table plan: Either create your own air mail style tags of simply display photos of your travels with your guests names and table numbers amongst them.

Place settings: A gorgeous way to display your place names. Why not include a letter to your guests and the menu within the envelope.

Table numbers: Instead of having table numbers, you can use airport codes for each table. You could also have a map as a place mat showing your travels.

Guest book ideas: We recently found these cute love letter packs and think they make a great alternative to a guest book. Simply ask your guests to write you a note and place it into the envelope. That way the bride and groom can enjoy opening their mail when they return from honeymoon. Dress up your guest book table, with a globe and mailbox! Alternatively you could use postcards for your guests to write on.

Favours: PMP love these cute bags, you could fill them with sweets for your guests. An alternative would be to use a brown paper bag and create your own luggage tag as a sticker to seal the bag.
